Genell Support are proud to have taken part in a recent DfE consultation

Genell Support CIC are proud to have taken part in the DfE consultation on proposed standards for unregulated provision for looked after children and care leavers aged 16 and 17.

Our sole purpose at Genell Support is to provide ethical, not-for-profit, supported living services for young care leavers, and to this end we are delighted to have been given the opportunity to help shape the proposed National Standards for the ‘Supported Accommodation for Older Children’ by presenting our views on:

  • The key indicators of whether a provider is delivering ‘care’ or ‘support’.

  • How best to define this provision in the future?

  • What the best provision in this sector looks like, and what needs to be accounted for in new national standards.

  • A proposed suite of national standards.

  • How settings should be regulated by Ofsted.
